about

CONSTELLATE is a collaborative virtual music project, curated by Holocene in order to showcase Portland’s incredibly talented electronic music community, which has always been such a cornerstone of Holocene’s programming and so close to our hearts. We hoped to give these producers a creative outlet and platform for expression during this time of social distancing and self-isolation, while our physical venue must be closed. We tasked some of our favorite local electronic producers with crafting a song over one weekend - All using the same sample pack (created by Dan Vidmar of Shy Girls) to create their songs, with no added sounds (no external samples, synths or recordings). Songs were to be inspired by nightlife, and the general theme of “going out” - something that we are all nostalgic for already. The results have been compiled into this album entitled GOING IN, available for streaming and purchase on Bandcamp. Proceeds from the compilation will be split between the artists and Holocene staff, in a very difficult financial time for venues and musicians alike. We hope this album brings you some comfort, joy and inspiration in these challenging and transformative times.
